CAROL BOSSERT

A member of The Museum Group since 2001, Carol Bossert is principal of CB Services, a consulting practice that specializes in exhibition interpretive planning and project management.  Carol brings insight and optimism to every project based on more than twenty years of experience in the museum field. 

What do we do?

We plan and develop exhibits in natural history, science, technology and cultural history.  We work with museum staff to articulate the heart and soul of the exhibition. We work with designers and architects to synthesize and translate content information from two dimensions into three.  And we work with audiences to verify that the exhibit experience meets their needs and expectations.

How do we do it?

• We undertake research.  We pay attention to the details of scholarship.

• We listen to discern the vision and passion of the project.

• We provide a variety of planning and organizational tools to bring together scholarship and passion so that they can be realized in a three dimensional space.

• We employ the technical skills necessary for exhibit development including research, scripting, label writing, editing, documentation, and asset management.

Why do we do it?

Exhibits are an important means of communication.  They offer safe havens to pause, to think, and to reflect.  They represent personal and social environments.  They can be transformational in the ways we look at the world and ourselves. They are also expensive, time consuming and risky endeavors.  CB Services provides the skills and experiences necessary to minimize risk and maximize outcomes.
