DEBORAH L. MACK Among recent exhibitions Debbie has developed are Western Legacies, a 7,000-square-foot permanent exhibition on the African American presence in the West, for the Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library, Denver Public Library; and The Art of African Women: Empowering Traditions, a photography exhibition for the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, New York Public Library. Debbie has a PhD in anthropology and a BA in geography. She has taught anthropology and African studies; worked in museum collections, film production, and anthropological research; and developed, led, and lectured for heritage tourism programs in the United States and Africa. She is an active member and board member of a number of professional organizations; serves on the advisory board of McIntosh SEED (Sustainable Environmental and Economic Development), in McIntosh County, Georgia; and served two three-year terms on the advisory Smithsonian Council. |
