BARBARA MEYERSON As a museum consultant, Barbara specializes in interpreting museum environments for children and families. Her clients have included a variety of museums, zoos, children’s hospitals, and botanical gardens in the areas of exhibit design, program creation, staff training and development, governance (public, private and hybrid), team building, and capital fundraising. She has recently co-authored a book designed to engage children and their families in museums, and other cultural venues. Her experiences continue to inspire museum docents and staff, and she has lectured on the subject of family learning and engagement in museum environments at museums and universities throughout the world. Barbara began her museum career at the age of twelve, as the first Junior Aide volunteer at the Brooklyn Museum in New York. More recently, she served as the President of the Association of Children’s Museums and as a board member of both the American Association of Museums and Hands On!, a consortium of international children’s museums. |
