The Museum Group is a consortium of senior museum consultants that was founded in 1995 by independent museum professionals who had held senior positions in museums.

At the annual meeting of the American Association of Museums, TMG hosts small-group sessions called Conversations for invited participants. Conversations promote focused dialogue in an informal and confidential setting about contemporary and sometimes controversial issues.
TMG and its members host provocative sessions about current ideas and issues at the annual meeting of the American Association of Museums and other conferences.
