VINCENT BEGGS

Vincent Beggs has dedicated his education and entire professional career to the advancement, management and fulfillment of mission for the diverse audiences of museums and nonprofits.

He has held senior education and administrative positions with the Cultural Affairs Department of the City of Los Angeles and the American Craft Museum in New York City. As the executive director at the Palos Verdes Community Art Center and at the Los Angeles Children's Museum, he not only managed the day-to-day operations, but also initiated and established strategic plans and endowment funds, launched membership campaigns, and developed and executed annual and capital campaigns.

During his tenure as the vice president for development at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, a consortium of four museums with an annual budget in excess of $21 million, he managed the annual fundraising effort and coordinated the successful funding of the largest contributions to exhibits and programs ever granted by the National Science Foundation. The first earmark for the institution in both a federal and state budget and the first endowed curatorial chair in the museum’s history were established with his guidance. Vincent also successfully developed a master plan to meet the goals for funding research, education, public programs, and exhibits, while assisting in the management of the endowment fund, the membership department, and special events.

As a consultant he has focused on master planning, fundraising strategies, marketing and communications, and volunteer training. Educational program development, exhibit design, and audio, visual, and media production are also his areas of expertise that have benefited many organizations.
