DARYL K. FISCHER A skilled facilitator, Daryl uses her team-building experience to draw out individual perspectives and integrate them in a collective vision as projects evolve from conception through completion. The Morton Arboretum, the High Museum of Art, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Hunter Museum of American Art are among the clients that have relied on teamwork to create successful exhibits, interactive experiences, and building projects. Daryl began her museum career at the Denver Art Museum in 1980. Working under the leadership of Patterson Williams, she learned lessons she’s never forgotten about the value of the team approach, experimentation and innovation, audience advocacy, and the importance of helping visitors to create their own meaning from museum experiences. She went on to lead education departments at the Muskegon Museum of Art and the Indianapolis Museum of Art before founding MUSYNERGY in 1993. Always an active player in the museum profession, Daryl has recently served as Vice President of Organizational Development for the Visitor Studies Association and Vice President of The Museum Group. She is the author of Museums, Trustees and Communities: Building Reciprocal Relationships and the four-volume Templates for Trustees as well as numerous articles. |
